HUBUNGAN HYPERTENSION KNOWLEDGE TERHADAP SELF MANAGEMENT PASIEN DENGAN HIPERTENSI GRADE II DI PUSKESMAS MAKROMAN

Abstract

High blood pressure or hypertension is a chronic disease that rarely shows symptoms. Around the world hypertension is a big and serious problem. It is necessary to give advice to patients with grade 2 hypertension to comply with the recommended treatment. According to several studies, it is said that knowledge will affect patient self-management. Therefore, self-management programs should be developed for patients with chronic disease. This study uses a non-experimental quantitative research method which was carried out in a cross sectional manner with analytical descriptive analysis. Data were collected directly from respondents by filling out two questionnaires related to hypertention knowledge and self management. The object of this study is the knowledge of hypertension patients and patient compliance in taking antihypertension drugs. The samples in this study were hypertension patients at the PuskesmasMakroman aged 20-70 years, male and female, patients who had a doctor's diagnosis of hypertension, BPJS participant patients who had received education from PROLANIS who were willing to become research respondents. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis method. In this study, 80 samples were obtained, Spearman rank test was conducted between hypertension knowledge and self management. The test results in this study show that there is no significant relationship between hypertension knowledge and hypertension self-management.
