Non adherence to medication is one of the biggest public health problems. Lack of adherence to antihypertensive drugs is the main reason for poor hypertension control. The factors that influence compliance behavior are very complex and various, one of which is social support (family). Family support plays an important role in health care, because with family support the achievement of a healthy family will be achieved. Family support can be in the form of information about their illness or reminders to take medication. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a relationship between family support and medication adherence in hypertensive patients at the Muara Wis Health Center. This type of research is descriptive correlational with cross sectional method, namely research design by measuring or observing at the same time or at one time. The object of this study is the relationship between family support and adherence to medication in hypertension patients. The sample in this study were hypertensive patients at the Muara Wis Health Center aged >18 years. Data analysis in this study is the Spearman rank correlation analysis method.

The results showed that medication adherence in hypertensive patients at the Muara Wis Health Center based on the MMAS (Morisky Medication Adherence Scale) questionnaire showed that hypertensive patients had low adherence 52%, moderate adherence 29% and high compliance 19%. Based on the pill count, the level of adherence was low, namely 51%, moderate adherence 29% and high adherence 20%. Hypertension patients who received low support from their families were 54%, respondents who received moderate family support were26% and respondents who received high family support were 20%.
