PENGARUH EKSTRAK UMBI BAWANG TIWAI (Eleutherine bulbosa (Mill.) Urb.) SEBAGAI ANTIOKSIDAN TERHADAP DIAMETER LUMEN TUBULUS GINJAL MENCIT BETINA (Mus musculus L.) YANG DIPAPAR RHODAMIN B
Abstract
The circulating food may contain Rhodamine B, rhodamine B is one of the compounds that trigger free radicals that can damage the kidney tubules by affecting the reabsorption process so that inflammation causes the diameter of the lumen of the kidney tubules. Tiwai onions contain flavonoid and polyphenolic compounds which are antioxidants. Antioxidants can overcome free radicals by the transfer of hydrogen atoms. This research is true experimental research, namely, the sample used for the experiment and as a control group is taken randomly from a certain population. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of tiwai onion bulb extract (Eleutherine bulbosa (Mill.) Urb.) as an antioxidant on the renal tubular diameter of female mice exposed to rhodamine B and to determine the Effective Dose 50 (ED50) of tiwai onion bulb extract that could affect the diameter of the kidney tubule lumen of mice. females exposed to rhodamine B. The study was conducted using 25 female mice which were divided into 5 groups, namely the negative treatment group was given rhodamine B 0.08mg/25gBW, the positive group was given rhodamine B 0.08mg/25gBW and vitamin C 1.3mg/25gBW, the positive group was given rhodamine B 0.08mg/25gBW and vitamin C 1.3mg/25gBW. Treatment 1 (P1) was given rhodamine B 0.08mg/25gBB and tiwai onion bulb extract 1.25mg/25gBW, treatment group 2 (P2) was given rhodamine B 0.08mg/25gBW and tiwai onion bulb extract 2.5 mg/25gBW and Treatment group 3 (P3) was given rhodamine B 0.08 mg/25gBW and tiwai onion extract 5 mg/25gBW with the treatment carried out every day for 15 days. The results of the activity of tiwai onion tuber extract were observed from the histology of the kidney tubules of mice in the form of the diameter of the lumen of the kidney tubules by analyzing using ANOVA followed by Tukey's test p = <0.05. The results showed that the administration of tiwai onion tuber extract was significant (p<0.05) on the renal tubular lumen diameter variable by showing an increase in the size of the lumen diameter. Thus, the administration of tiwai onion bulb extract can improve the renal tubular lumen with the effect of ED50 on the tiwai onion bulb extract of 1.28 mg/25gBW.
