EVALUASI TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI FARMASI DI SAMARINDA TERHADAP PRAKTEK PENCEGAHAN COVID-19

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease declared a global pandemic by WHO. The prevalence of COVID-19 in Indonesia is high. According to the collected data, there is an increase of cases occurring in Samarinda, where most of the infections are asymptomatic. The spreads occur at universities or colleges. This study aims to evaluate the knowledge and attitudes of pharmacy students in Samarinda toward COVID-19 prevention practices. This study uses a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The number of verified respondents was 336 respondents. The characteristics of respondents in this study are 80.7% female, 69,6% aged between 17 and 20 years, and 58.3% living in Samarinda.  About 66.1% of students come from a private university, and 33.0% are currently studying in the second semester. About 98.8% of students have received information about COVID-19 and its prevention method. About 54.2% of students have attended seminars or lectures about COVID-19 and its prevention methods. The knowledge and attitude level of pharmacy students in Samarinda towards COVID-19 are good. The COVID-19 prevention practices of pharmacy students in Samarinda are excellent.  Pharmacy students' knowledge and attitudes towards COVID-19 in Samarinda are highly related to COVID-19 prevention practice. The semester level has taken by students of the pharmacy study program in Samarinda and whether or not students have received information about COVID-19 contributed to the level of knowledge about COVID-19.
